Kundapur: MP B Y Raghavendra urges minister Sarbananda Sonawala for multipurpose harbour

Kundapur, Jul 25: Shivamogga MP B Y Raghavendra visited along with chief minister Basavaraj Bommai met with union minister of ports, ships and water transport Sarbananda Sonawala and urged for a multi-purpose harbour at Byndoor for fisheries, tourism, commerce and economic development.

“A bridge to connect Gangolli fisheries port and Kundapur will reduce the current travelling distance and will provide easy access to basic necessities such as offices, hospital, fisheries and other facilities. Therefore, the project should be approved on priority,” he urged.

The union minister said that former chief minister B S Yediyurappa had written to him about it and asked the officials concerned to invite tenders to construct a multipurpose harbour in PPP model. He also assured to take positive action on Gangolli–Kundapur bridge.

Chief minister Basavaraj Bommai assured of his cooperation in the two projects.

Union assistant minister Sripad Nayak, Karnataka chief secretary Manjunath Prasad, basic amenities development department chief secretary Gaurav Gupta were present in the meeting.
