Bantwal, July 25: Bantwal Taluk Working Journalists Association held a seminar under the aegis of its press club in cooperation with Bantwal government first Grade College on how reading the news media is conducive to studies at Bantwal government first Grade College.

MLA Rajesh Naik who inaugurated the programme said that the media and newspapers are facing challenges these days. “Journalism changes the way people think and their preferences also changes. Journalism takes a major part in a democracy,” he said.

Senior journalist Manohar Prasad said that journalism contains certain sensitive things. “Repeated reading strengthens our writing. The skill to read the writings is also important,” he said.

President of sangha Prashanth Punjalkatte presided over the programme. District Journalists Association president Srinivas Indaje and college principal Dr Pratapchandra Shishila conveyed their wishes.

College development committee president Prasad Kumar Rai was on the dais. Manohar Prasad was felicitated by Bantwal Karyanirata Patrakartara Sangha. Former president Harish Mambadi welcomed. Chief secretary Mounesh Vishwakarma compered the programme.
