Bantwal: Mahila Congress stages protests against price rises and centre’s anti-people policies

Bantwal, Jul 26: The Panemangalore and Bantwal Mahila Congress staged protests in front of the mini Vidhana Soudha here opposing the price rises of essential commodities of daily use and the anti-people policies of the union government.

Former minister B Ramanath Rai said that the government was playing with the lives of the people since 2014. "The double engine government at the centre and the state have only increased the prices but not understood the pain of the people. I condemn the government which has raised the prices. Women are directly facing the consequences of price rises,” he said.

KPCC chief secretary Mamatha Gatti said that Congress party has taught the people how to live but BJP is snatching away their livelihood.

District Mahila Congress president Shalet Pinto, district Mahila Congress vice president Mallika Shetty, Panemangalore Mahila block Congress president Jayanti V Poojary, Bantwal block Mahila Congress president Lavina Wilma Moras, Jasmine D’Souza, Ida Suresh, Manjula Kushala Peraje, Sapna Vishwanath Poojary Sarapady, Dhanalakshmi C Bangera, Flossy D’Souza, Nasima, Asma Azeez, municipal council president Mohammed Sharif, vice president Jacinta, Bantwal block Congress president Baby Kunder, Panemagalore block Congress president Sudhir Shetty, Chandraprakash Shetty, Padmashekar Jain, Abbas Ali, Lolaksha Shetty, Sheela Veigas, Parameshwara Moolya, Preeti Dina Pereira, Vasu Poojary, Venkappa Poojary, Prashanth Kulal, Roshan Rai, Sadananda Shetty, Gangadhar Poojary and others were present.
