Udupi, Aug 19: “A car festival will be celebrated for three months to attract tourists at five assembly constituencies as Udupi district completes 25 years after its formation,” said minister V Sunil Kumar.
Speaking at a news conference at County Inn hotel, Manipal, he said, "The celebrations will be continued for next six months till January 25. An ‘Agnipath Daud’ marathon is planned at Bhuvanendra college on August 24 and 25 to encourage youth to join the Army. The silver jubilee will be celebrated as a feast for the people of the district,” he said.
“We invite Congress senior leader Veerappa Moily and other elected representatives for the programme. It is a programme of the people and not a government programme,” he said.
MLA Raghupathi Bhat, DC Kurma Rao and other local leaders were present.
