Mangaluru: Programme on environment protection held for St Joseph School students

Mangaluru, Sep 12: The Holy Spirit church, Bajal held a programme on ‘protection of environment – our responsibility’ for St Joseph Higher Primary school children under the guidance of parish priest Fr Andrew D’ Souza here on September 10.

Ronald Coelho who welcomed the gathering said that we should sprout the seeds of fruits that we bring home, grow saplings out of them and contribute to the environment.

Seema Tauro, secretary of parish pastoral council explained ways of keeping the surroundings clean and our responsibility of preventing environment pollution.

Environmentalist Jeet Milan Roche, chief guest, spoke about the intention of environment protection and our duties in that regard.

Lidia Lobo compered the programme. St Joseph higher primary school headmistress Sarita Mascarenhas rendered a vote of thanks.

School teachers, students, parents and members of the environment unit were present. The programme concluded after singing the national anthem.
