Udupi: MCC Bank, Karkala branch holds customer meet

Karkala, Sep 12: On the occasion of the post centenary decennial celebration of the bank, a customer meet was organised by M C C bank Ltd, Karkala branch at the Christ King church hall on Sunday September 11.

The programme started with the prayer song led by Pascal Maxim Dsouza and team.

The customer meet was presided over by Anil Lobo, chairman of the bank. The meet was formally inaugurated by Fr Clement Mascarenhas, parish priest of Christ King church, Karkala.

Fr Paul Rego, parish priest, Miyar church, Prakash D'Souza, proprietor of Canara Construction, Ajekar, John R Dsilva, former - director of MCC bank and businessman, Nagesh Poojary, proprietor of Apoorva logistics, Nazeeruddin, proprietor Creativity Engineering, Karkala were the guests of honour.

Fr Clement Mascarenhas, in his inaugural speech congratulated the chairman, management and staff of the bank for rendering selfless service to the society. He urged the management and staff to serve the people from the lower strata of the society also. He wished good luck for the future endeavours of the bank.

Prakash D'Souza in his speech said that, not only we should develop but also encourage others to develop along with us and we should be indebted to the people who are responsible for our growth. He expressed happiness to be present in the customer meet when the bank is celebrating its 110 years of existence. He appreciated the excellent service offered by the staff of Karkala branch, especially in E-Stamping and ATM services offered by the branch. He remembered the sacrifice made by all the persons who were responsible for the growth of the bank.

John D’Silva, while sharing his experience as former director of the bank said that Catholic community has rendered selfless service in the field of education and hospitality. He appreciated the bank for responding to the requirements of the customers and the customer service offered by the bank without any bias. He wished more and more people to avail the loan facilities offered by the bank.

Fr Paul Rego, in his speech said that the customers are the real assets of the bank and the bank should extend its services to the rural areas also. He appreciated the efforts of the bank in helping the society and wished that such customer meets should be held every year.

On this occasion the customers who have their birthdays in the month of September were honoured. The senior citizen customers were congratulated and honoured with shawl and flower bouquets.

As a part of customer meet, an open session was held to enable the customers to offer their suggestions, feedback and also express their grievances. All the customers actively took part in this interactive session and gave their valuable suggestions.

Chairman, Anil Lobo, in his presidential speech, bank is rendering service to the customers with human touch and within the limitation of the rules and regulations of the regulators. He emphasised the importance of the customers in the banking business and said that the staff are being properly trained at the training centre to be more responsive to the needs of the customers and offer best customer service. He thanked the senior citizens for supporting the bank.

He said that the ambience of the branches has been upgraded to enable the customers to have better experience. He explained the bank had earned a net profit of Rs.8.27 crore with a net NPA of 1.60% during the last FY which was possible only because of the support by the customers, i.e., reposing trust in case of deposits and promptly repaying the loans availed by them. He said the bank is believing in the safety of customers’ deposits and recovery of loans without any compromise in its efforts.

Directors J P Rodrigues, David D'Souza, Anil Patrao, Herold Monteiro, Andrew D'Souza, Elroy Kiran Crasto, Dr Gerald Pinto, professional directors Sushanth Saldanha, member of board of management, Alwyn P Monteiro, Felix D’Cruz, were also present.

General manager explained the importance of the customer meet. Branch support director and vice chairman Jerald Jude Dsilva welcomed the gathering. Rayan Praveen, branch manager proposed vote of thanks. Alwyn Danthi, compered the programme.

Employees of MCC Bank Karkala Branch, Anitha D'Souza, Joswin Rosario, Deepthi Tauro and Joseph Felix were actively involved in organising the customer meet. More than 250 customers of the branch participated in the customer Meet.
