Beltangady: Murder over land dispute – Three arrested

Beltangady, Sep 13: Beltangady police took three people into custody and produced them in court over the matter of death of a person during fight over land dispute that took place at Shantinagara in Indabettu village here.

Jarappa Naika (55) died in the scuffle that took place on July 27. Police arrested Deepak Shetty, Manohar Gowda and Chandrakanth Nayak in this connection.

Jarappa Naika had gone to the spot where altercation was going on over land issue. As Jarappa was pushed by the accused, he fell to the ground and died.

Jarappa’s son Rajashekar filed a complaint in Beltangady police station. Accused were absconding and later approached court in Mangaluru for anticipatory bail. But their bail application was quashed and the police arrested them. Court sent the three accused to judicial custody.
