Dublin, Sep 11: Celebration of Nativity feast was held in Ireland at St Paul’s Club, Artane, Dublin. This was organised by Konkan Ireland, Monti Fest committee 2019 who came together and set the hall. Stage was decorated by Arun Maria Lobo.
The whole celebration was attended by nearly 140 members which included all 3 generations. Families living in Dublin and from different county (Cork, Kerry, Galway, Limerick, Donegal, Dundalk etc.) in Ireland joined the celebration in huge numbers with great devotion. Parents who were visiting their kids and grandkids in Ireland joined the celebration too which was an immense pleasure and blessings to the whole Konkan Ireland family.
The celebration began at 10.15am with the blessing of the new grains and Holy mass. Fr Suresh was the main celebrant, who work as a Chaplain in Dublin Hospital. His homily was very interesting where he emphasised the role of Mother Mary and how we should increase our faith in prayer. This was followed by veneration of flowers to Blessed Infant Mary by children and adults. Traditional hymns which included Sakkad Sangatha Melyan and Moriyek hogolsiyam were sung during the veneration followed by Happy Birthday Mama Mary song.
It was a great joy to see huge number of children and tiny tots along with their parents offering flowers to Mama Mary daily for 9 days novena which was conducted in 9 different family home. Fr Suresh presented the small statue of Mother Mary and new crop to 9 families who hosted the novena at their house which was donated by Alwyn and Shobha Fernandes family.
There were lot of cultural programmes after the eucharistic celebration. Kids and adults displayed the talents through their outstanding performances which included dancing, singing, playing piano and comedy skit which entertained the full crowd. Rosita Lobo compered the whole programme with full spirit. Everyone enjoyed the delicious vegetarian starters and lunch provided by Karuna caterers.
Housie Housie game was conducted by our guest Rafael Rebello and the programme was concluded by Biala dance. Thus, the Nativity celebration ended with great jubilation.
