Adelaide, Sep 16: Adelaide Konkan Catholic Community of South Australia celebrated our unique Monthi Fest, birthday of our dear Mother Mary in a very special way at Holy Trinity church Para Hills.

The celebrations commenced with veneration of mother Mary by showering of colourful flowers. This year’s celebration was extra special with Konkani mass which is first time in the history of Adelaide. The mass was celebrated by our own Mangalurean priests Fr Lancy D'Silva and Fr Santhosh Periera. Beautiful Konkani choir was led by Juliet Goveas along with musicians Geraldine and Herbert accompanied by the crew.

Most of the Mangaluru families/devotees attended this event along with children in colourful attire and flowers to show respect and honour to mamma Mary.

The entire event was organized by a team of active and enthusiastic members including Juliet and Loy Goveas, Prakash Dsilva, Vincent Dsouza, Avitus Cardoza, Jagdish Dsouza and Allan Rebello. The event was full of fun and entertainment with adults and kids activities. Master of the ceremony Ancilla Diaz conducted this whole event with music, dance, games, baila and our own bingo fun game. Traditional vegetarian lunch was served to the whole community. Popular sugarcane was also served to all the attendees.

It was a great joy to see many attendees along with their families and children offering respect to Mamma Mary.
