Kuwait, Sept 23: Pamboor Welfare Association Kuwait (PWAK) celebrated Monti Fest at Harmony Hall#1, behind Al Rashid Hospital, Salmiyah here on September 20.
Celebration started at 7.30pm with the introduction by compere Shawn Pereira. President Samson Noronha welcomed all the parishioners along with more than 150 gathered guests and well-wishers with a spiritual touch of words and wished blessings of Infant Mary on the gathering.
The statue of Infant Mary was decorated with beautiful flowers. Sunil and Wilma Menezes conducted the Novena service. All the children were given a plate of flowers to offer Infant Mary singing, ‘Sakkad Sangatha Melyan’ followed by ‘Moriek Hogalsian.’ After the novena service, snacks and soft drinks were served to everyone.
The guest for the event was Fr Dominic Sequeira (Salmiya parish priest), Norbert D’souza (president of AKF), Stany Monis (director of PWAK), Samson Noronha (president of PWAK) and Johnson Fernandes (vice president of PWAK). The guests were honored by flower bouquets.
A cake cutting ceremony was held by the guests and the committee members of PWAK. Chief guest Fr Dominic Sequeira in his speech praised PWAK member’s dedication towards the Pamboor parish and wished everyone a happy feast.
Presidents and representatives of various Mangalurean associations in Kuwait, such as KCWA, Tulu Koota, Pangala, Shirva, Brahmavar, Kanajar, UMK, Abbasiya Konkani families, Pius Nagar (PWCK), Bellevision the family members and friends of PWAK were present and honored by flower bouquets.
Beautiful dances were performed by Swedal, Spanita and group dance by Alvita and Valentena which was appreciated by everyone. Beautiful Konkani song (Nove Jevann) sung by Stenwil Menezes and ‘Juliana’ lovely song sung by Morvine Quadras (GVOM Season-4 winner) and appreciated by everyone.
Number of games including housie housie, auction game (Grinder) and spot games were conducted by Shawn Periera, Depak Andrade and Samson Noronha during the event and prizes were distributed to all the winners in different games by Samson Noronha.
Grace before meal was rendered by Deepak Andrade. Samson Noronha invited everyone to have blessed traditional Mangalurean vegetarian meal by offering a jar of water.
As one family all were served the traditional festal meal prepared by M&M Caterers, Salmiyah on banana leaves which was enjoyed and appreciated by all with the typical Mangalurean flavor.
Pizza was sponsored by Spinnes Confectionery.
Johnson Fernandes thanked all who helped to make the programme successful and memorable.
The programme was compered by Shawn Pereira and appreciated by everyone. Rocking music was played by DJ-RX.
