Mangalore: Prostitution Racket Busted in City - Six Arrested

Mangalore, May 21: The police unearthed a prostitution network at a lodge in Maidan Road here, following a raid led by ACP Ravindra Gadadi on Saturday May 21.
The persons nabbed by the police during the raid have been identified as customers Harish, Abbas, Arun, room boy Ravi and cleaner Rajesh.
The woman involved in the racket is Mumtaz (26) from Andra Pradesh. Her husband is said to have abandoned her. She too has been arrested.
Owner Laxman Achari of 'Samruddhi' lodge, where the racket was allegedly running, and manager Ashraf are absconding.
It is alleged the clandestine activity has been running for the last few years with support from unknown quarters. A case has been registered at the Bunder police station and investigations are on. Police team comprising Ravi, Dinesh and Shambha took part in the raid operation.
