Mangaluru: St Agnes School organises outreach programme- spreading joy of Christmas

Mangaluru, Dec 27: The essence of joy on this Christmas season comes from the hands that share is what St Agnes CBSE school believes and to keep up the joy and festive spirit had organized outreach programme to various schools and orphanages around the city of Mangaluru.

It is not only learning to share but also the time spent on understanding the life of the inmates which taught to reflect on humanity and compassion to students and teachers.



The school planned a meticulous programme to various schools and homes. Around 14 places were visited by students accompanied by teachers also staff too visited the home along with principal and administrator.

The visited places were: Mother Teresa’s Home – Attavar, St Mary’s Kannada Primary School- Falnir, Home for the Aged– Kulshekar, White Doves – Kulshekar, St Agnes Special School, St Agnes High School, Lady Hill Higher Primary School, Jeevadhan- Aids Rehabilitation Centre- Gurupura, Veronica Vihar and Balagraha- Maryhill, St Agnes Higher Primary School, Snehalaya – Manjeshwar, Seva Ashram Pavur and Inchara Home.

The students sang the Christmas carols, a tableau on Jesus’ arrival and games were conducted for the students and inmates. The teachers and students spent time with children and elders understanding them through interaction and having a hearty laugh along with their jokes and merriment.

As a part of sharing, the commodities which students of CBSE school generously offered along with school contribution was handed over to the heads of the school and orphanages. To Snehalaya 100 KG Rice, 50 KG Sugar, 30 Kg Flour, 120 coconuts and 40 toothpastes were shared. To White Doves 50 KG of Rice, 30 KG Sugar, 20 KG Flour, 60 coconuts, 60 soaps and 20 tooth pastes were given, to Mother Theresa Home 40 KG Rice, 30 KG Sugar, 20 KG Flour, 40 Coconuts, 60 Soaps, and 20 toothpastes given.

For the Home for the Aged 40 KG Rice, 30 KG Sugar, 20 KG Flour, 40 Coconuts, 60 Soaps and 20 Toothpastes. To Veronica Vihar & Balagraha 30 KG Rice, 20 KG sugar, 15KG Flour, 40 Coconuts, 60 soaps and 20 toothpastes given. Jeevandhan Centre 30 KG Rice, 20 KG Sugar, 10 KG Floor, 40 coconuts, 60 soaps and 22 toothpastes.

For Seva Ashram Pavur biscuits and cakes were distributed. For St Agnes High school, Lady Hill Primary school and St Mary’s Kannada medium school 90 packets of biscuits each and 50 packs each of cakes were distributed to the students.

Inchara home some biscuits and cakes were distributed. It was a great moment to watch the happiness spread during the Christmas season.

The management congratulates the principal, staff and students for conducting this programme and congratulates parents for their generosity to share.
