Bengaluru: ‘Forgot that I ate meat’, clarifies C T Ravi over temple-visit controversy

Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru (MS)

Bengaluru, Feb 24: BJP national chief secretary C T Ravi clarified the issue of him visiting temple after having meat and said, “I did not remember that I ate meat. It was quite late after having meal. There was no plan to go to the temple. Only because locals forced, I had to go there. When I went to the temple, it was closed. So I just went to the passage of the temple.”

Speaking to media near Vidhan Southda, Ravi said, “It is true that I have non-vegetarian meals that day. But I did not enter the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. Locals took me to the temple and luckily it was locked.

“There was no plan to go to the temple. Only because it was built on disputed land, locals forced me to go. Hence, I went with them.

“I am not like Congress leaders who say that they will go to temple after having meat. There are temples where the food offerings is veg and there are also temples where the food offered is non-vegetarian to the deity. It is really unfortunate that the Congress party members do not understand this,” he said.

On February 19, Ravi visited Uttara Kannada district. He had non veg meal at the house of MLA Sunil Naika at Shirali of Bhatkal. Then he visited Nagabana and Karibanta Haunuma temple. The photos of him visiting the holy places had gone viral on social media.

"When you tell one lie, you have to invent 100 other lies to cover that." I don't remember who said this - may be Gandhiji - but that seems to be true of this incident. Personally, I am not against anybody eating anything of his or her choice. It is left to the individual concerned to decide what he likes to eat. But what I am against at is the hypocrisy these BJP guys show. It is an open secret that many BJP people eat beef and pork in their friends' houses but in public they act as if they are saints. Such hypocrisy should be exposed.

I thought BJP MLA's and MP's were strict vegetarians. Normally we Hindus who eat non veg , like me, do not make temple visits after consuming non veg. Even ex-CM Mr.Siddharamaiah , totally destroying the sanctity of temple visits by consuming non-veg and going.

Is it a sacrilege to enter a temple to worship with a full stomach (whatever it may have stored?). In the days of yore, only Christian churches refused to administer prasasd (communion) unless the devotee had an empty stomach. If hindus can enter temple after eating a meal, does it matter whether it was veg. or non-veg? Only stupid people make issue of it.

If he had payasa after eating non--veg food then Gods will forgive him, as the Non-veg food is now deep in his stomach, and nearer to his large intestine...but payasa would have been eaten much later and still on the topmost part of stomach and not digested fully....so he is closer to God now.

It is further confirmed you are a hypocrite -- --His disclaimer is worse -- CT RAVI -- CT RAVI or as a floating JOKE on social media -- CT -- whistle -- All he could have stated was --- that I went innocently -- matter would have ended == now he drags others and tries to be a silly martyr-- no written law regarding meat etc -- but generally observe certain diet and purity while entering places of worship -- for one's own spiritual reasons --

Moral of the story is, how to enter temple is something which is defined by the concerned priest. Is it logical or not, its up to the individual devotee. Now this character, being a politician, has got no authority to talk about this issue, had vomited lots of poison then on Mr. Siddaramaih. Fortunately, karma made him to eat his vomit.
