Bloom to Save Endangered Butterflies

London, Aug 16 (IANS): Actor Orlando Bloom has pledged to help endangered butterflies by backing his mother's campaign to raise awareness about the threatened insects.

The actor has sponsored children's book "Crystal The Small Miracle", written by his mother Sonia Copeland Bloom, aiming to educate kids about the insect world.

"Butterflies are powerful symbols of the beauty and vulnerability of nature. The story of Crystal, the Small Miracle, written by my mother for children everywhere, reflects her own love of butterflies as well as her passion for children to be educated about the insect world in general," dailystar.co.uk quoted the 34-year-old as saying.

The book, published by a conservation group, is dedicated to actor's young son Flynn with wife Miranda Kerr.
