Mangaluru, Oct 13: A significant milestone in the realm of education and industry collaboration was reached as the Kanara Industrial Association (KIA) and the School of Social Work (Autonomous College) Roshni Nilaya inked an official Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on October 13.
Dr Kiran Prasad B, the coordinator of the Sociology Economics Forum, played a pivotal role as he warmly welcomed the distinguished representatives from both institutions and elucidated the key objectives of the MoU.
The primary objective of this MoU is to create a robust bridge between the academic arena and the corporate landscape, thereby fostering a seamless collaboration to nurture academic growth. The MoU will facilitate invaluable opportunities such as internships and job placements for students, further enhancing their career prospects. Moreover, it seeks to organize a diverse range of academic programs, enriching the educational experience of the students.

The MoU signing event was attended by notable individuals from both organizations. The president of KIA, Ananthesh V Prabhu, and the principal of the School of Social Work, Dr Sophia N Fernandes, signed the document as the official representatives of the respective institutions. The witnesses for the signing from the KIA side included Robin Jose, joint secretary of KIA, and the manager, Guruprasad K representing the School of Social Work were Dr Kiran Prasad, the coordinator of the Sociology Economics Forum, and Assoc. Prof Cecilia F Goveas, the head of the Department of Economics.
The MoU signing was attended by Dr Jenis Mary vice principal, Assoc. Prof. Vineetha K, registrar (Evaluation), Dr Sandra Lobo, NAAC coordinator and Dr Sebastin KV, dean Academicswho lent their presence and support to this significant collaboration.
During the signing event, Ananthesh V Prabhu, president of KIA, expressed his optimism and belief in the MoU's ability to guide and mentor young minds, provide them with skill-based knowledge, and motivate them to pursue the right path in their careers.
