Udupi: St Cecily’s English Medium Hr Pry School (CBSE) celebrates Karnataka Rajyotsava

Udupi, Nov 1: Kannada Rajyotsava was celebrated at St Cecily’s English Medium Higher Primary School, Udupi (CBSE) on October 31 by the students of Grade 6A.

They presented a program which began with prayer service seeking the blessings of God on the state and its people.

The program rendered a beautiful glimpse into the formation of the state of Karnataka and its rich, varied heritage. The students were instilled with a deeper appreciation for the state of Karnataka and evoked a great sense of pride to be Kannadigas.

Sr Mayola, AC, teacher, St Cecily’s Higher Primary School, was the chief guest of the occasion. In her message, she insisted on speaking Kannada citing that mother tongue is an important part of one’s identity and it connects people to their culture and heritage. She said that learning the mother tongue well can help children understand their identity better. It can also give them a greater appreciation for their cultural diversity in the world, she added.

Unnathi was the anchor of the programme. Falak proposed a vote of thanks on behalf of all the students of class 6A.
