Kaup, May 29: Yogish Acharya, a key accused in the Pangala murder case involving Sharath Shetty Mandadi, surrendered himself before the district court after being found hiding inside a drain in Pangala last year. This surrender aligns with a prophetic statement made a year ago.
Following Sharath Shetty's murder, family members had appealed to the police to locate the absconding suspect. They claimed to have received assurance from the divine realm that ‘no matter where the accused is, I will bring him before the police’. This divine proclamation has now manifested into reality. Notably, on May 23, Yogish voluntarily presented himself before the court, marking a significant turn of events.

Yogish Acharya, who had been evading authorities for over a year, appeared before the third additional civil judge and the first-class judicial magistrate at the Udupi district court on May 23, accompanied by his legal representatives, and surrendered. The court has ordered him to be held in judicial custody for 14 days. Deputy superintendent of police (Kundapur) Jayashree Mane, the current investigating officer, has taken custody of Yogish for further interrogation.
