Bengaluru, Aug 4: Doing what the Congress party did to Prime Minister Narendra Modi asking 5 questions during the Lok Sabha poll campaign, Leader of Opposition and senior BJP leader R Ashoka has asked 5 questions each on MUDA and Valmiki Scams to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

Under the tagline “AnswerMadiSiddaramaiah,” Ashoka has posted his 5 questions each to Siddaramaiah in the 'X' social media platform.

There are several doubts on the chief minister’s claims that the MUDA sites allotted to his wife Parvathi were for the land acquired by MUDA and wondered how his brother-in-law B N Mallikarjunaswamy purchased the land and asked Siddaramaiah to answer:

  1. If Mallikarjunaswamy had purchased the land from Devaraj as claimed, did Devaraj really have Encumberance Certificate?
  2. Isn’t it true that Devaraj had sold the land in 1968 to Mailaraiah and family and allegedly sold the property to Mallikarjunaswamy by creating false documents?
  3. Was the land purchased without proper examination despite knowing there were doubts about its ownership and whether it wan’t verified that a layout had already been developed there?
  4. How can the District Deputy Commissioner give permission for conversion of land for non-agricultural purposes in 2005 when MUDA had created sites and distributed sites there in 2003?
  5. Didn’t your wife Parvathi examine the land when she received the land from her maternal family in 2010?

Similarly, on the Rs 187 crore funds from the Maharshi Valmiki Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation, the BJP leader asked Siddaramaiah to answer:

  1. Wasn’t the Department aware of the illegal transfer of the Valmiki Corporation’s huge funds from the Union Bank’s branch in Vasant Nagar to M G Road branch?
  2. When such a huge amount was transferred, why didn't the Department’s Principal Secretary conduct any inquiry or he was ordered to remain silent?
  3. Didn’t the irregularity come up in the meetings held by Chief Secretary or deliberately turned a blind eye?
  4. Wasn’t the funds transferred to MG Road branch to escape the scrutiny by NTT module?
  5. As those fully conversant with NTT module norms could carry out such huge misuse of funds, isn’t it correct that Finance Department top officials had colluded in the fraud?
