Lucknow, Nov 23: In the ongoing election campaign of Congress, its yuvraj Rahul Gandhi trained his guns on Chief Minister (CM) Mayawati during the second day of his programme at a rally in Bahraich district around 130 km from Lucknow on Wednesday.

Rahul however had a word of praise for Samajwadi Party (SP) supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav stating that he learnt to share the plight of the poor from the yadav chieftain. "It is true I came to know about the problems of the poor from Mulayam Singh Yadav but now he too has distanced himself from plight of the poor," he said.

Rahul used the MNREGA scheme as a tool to target CM Mayawati. In his diatribe Rahul stated that CM Mayawati had claimed that the MNREGA scheme will be of no use to poor. "She had stated this on October 9, 2007. We are sending money for the people but it is being siphoned away by the UP government's ministers," he said.

Rahul accused the ruling  Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) for being neck-deep in graft and snatching land from farmers. Rahul also assured the gathering during his two meetings that if voted to power the change will be visible within five years and the state will be on development track.
