Mangaluru, Mar 28: Mount Carmel Central School, organised a vibrant, fun-filled one-day camp for Cubs and Bulbuls on March 27. The event was inaugurated by administrator Sr Carissima and kicked off with a warm Cub Greeting, where the young Cubs, led by their Cub master, Tr Laveena, welcomed everyone with the signature salute. This was followed by the Bulbul greeting, where flock leader Tr Ireal guided the Bulbuls in showcasing their team spirit.
The flag hoisting ceremony, a symbol of scouting values, added to the day’s enthusiasm. The inaugural ceremony was smoothly compered by Tr Reshma, with applause filling the air.




































The camp featured an engaging line-up of activities. Professional nurses Philomene and Juliet conducted a first aid training session, equipping campers with essential life-saving skills. This was followed by a hands-on ‘Cooking without fire’ session, where Cubs and Bulbuls prepared fruit salad and lemonade under the guidance of their mentors.
After a short snack break, campers sharpened their minds with fun-filled memory games and creative craft sessions led by Trs Swathi, Sunitha and team. The afternoon was packed with an interactive knot-tying workshop by Trs Laveena and Ireal, followed by high-energy recreational games conducted by Tr Jayashree, Praveen and the kindergarten teachers.
As the day drew to a close, young campers Sudhanva of grade 4, Amshuman Shetty, and Sahithya of grade 3 shared their experiences, expressing how the camp helped them grow more independent, confident and responsible. The grand finale included the flag-lowering ceremony, prize distribution, and refreshments, bringing the event to a cheerful conclusion.
A perfect blend of fun and learning, the camp left the Cubs and Bulbuls with valuable skills, happy memories and a stronger sense of camaraderie.
