Young innovators of Mount Carmel excel at ‘Jnana Sethu 2025: Science for Peace’

Mangaluru, Nov 10: Students of Mount Carmel Central School, Mangaluru, enthusiastically participated in ‘Jnana Sethu 2025: Science for Peace’ organised by St Joseph Engineering College, Mangaluru on Friday, November 7, 2025.

The young Carmelites showcased their scientific acumen and creativity in the following events bringing laurels to the school.

• Arush Suraj Ullal and Arnav Diwakar of Grade XI-PCMC won the Best Innovative Idea Award for their model on Pot Hole Mapping System.

• Advaith Thekkatte Padiyar and Aron Roy Fernandes of Grade VIII D secured the second place in the quiz.

• Ian Suvin D’Mello of Grade X B and Mahendra Vasanth of Grade X C bagged the third place in the Hydro Canon competition.

In addition, Kevin Kushalappa, Elric D’Silva, Mahendra Vasanth, and Arush Suraj Ullal impressed the audience by enthusiastically answering questions during the quiz, earning spot rewards for their responses. Kevin’s spontaneous on-stage feedback as a student participant was especially appreciated by Rev. Fr Wilfred Prakash D’Souza, director of SJEC.

The school management and staff have congratulated the students for their remarkable achievements and for upholding the spirit of innovation and excellence at ‘Jnana Sethu 2025’.
