National Education Day celebration held at MPM GFGC Karkala

Karkalla, Nov 11: Manjunatha Pai Memorial Government First Grade College Karkala observed National Education Day on November 11, commemorating the birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad.

Principal Dr Suresh Rai K presided over the event. He delivered a speech highlighting the life and achievements of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad and emphasised the crucial importance of education in shaping the future of a country.

Jyothi L Janne, associate professor of Commerce, served as the speaker. She focused on Azad's significant contributions to the field of education and his role in the establishment of various educational institutions. She also stressed the necessity of inculcating values alongside formal education in students' lives.

The guests and gathering were formally welcomed by Jayalakshmi, associate professor in Economics. The formal vote of thanks was proposed by Bhagyalakshmi, associate professor in Political Science. The blessings of the almighty were invoked through a prayer by Guruprasad of IBA.

Sowmya H K, associate professor in Economics, served as the master of ceremony and organised the event.

Vinay M S, IQAC coordinator and physical education director Dr Jayabharathi graced the occasion with his presence.

A total of 108 students benefitted from this programme.
