Mangaluru: Permannur Parish marks jubilee year with all-night vigil

Media Release

Mangaluru, Dec 17: As part of the ongoing Jubilee Year celebrations, St Sebastian Parish, Permannur, held a solemn Night Vigil from the night of December 13 till the early hours of December 14, offering a profound experience of prayer and thanksgiving for the parish community.

The vigil, which began at 9 pm and concluded at 6 am, was animated by Brother Prakash and his team, whose inspiring preaching, guided prayers and reflections helped the faithful remain spiritually attentive throughout the night.

The programme was graced by the presence of eminent clergy from the diocese of Mangalore, including Fr Naveen Pinto, judicial vicar; Fr Roshan D’Cunha, diocesan director of YCS; and Fr Richard D’Souza, director of the Family Life Centre.

The parish priest and Fr Cyprian Pinto led the faithful in Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and later celebrated the Holy Eucharistic Sacrifice, which stood out as the spiritual highlight of the vigil.

Through adoration, Holy Mass and silent prayer, the faithful sought God’s grace and blessings for the parish during the jubilee year. Around 1,200 parishioners took part in the night-long vigil, reflecting the deep faith and devotion of the community.

Arrangements for tea, coffee and bread were thoughtfully organised for participants, while members of the Charismatic Movement and parish volunteers worked tirelessly through the night to ensure the smooth conduct of the programme.
