Udupi: Speeding car hits electric pole, students injured

Udupi, Mar 16: Another accident occurred on Friday March 15 wherein a car hit an electric pole on the state highway near Kadiyali at around 11:30 pm.

The car was being driven at a high speed by a student identified as Ganapathi from Sagar, sources said.

The student, who was driving his father's car, was on his way to buy medicines for his mother who was admitted at KMC hospital, it is said.

Amanulla, traffic SI said that high speed may be the cause of the accident.

The car was badly smashed and the electric poles were also damaged, affecting electricity supply in the area.

Ganapathi is said to have sustained serious injuries and is recuperating in KMC hospital, while another friend who was with him has sustained minor injuries and admitted to Gandhi hospital.

No case has been registered yet.
