Bangalore, Jan 10: Karnataka Government today decided to amend the Karnataka Stamps and Registration Act outlining guidelines on registration of revenue plots, agricultural lands converted for non-agricultural purpose without sanction and properties.
The decision to amend the act was taken at a high level meeting chaired by Deputy Chief Minister M P Prakash who holds the Revenue department portfolio, in the wake of the state High Court quashing its notification banning registration of revenue plots and others on January three after admitting a Public Interest Litigation.
Prakash told reporters here that the Urban Development Department has been asked to amend the Karnataka Municipality Act framing guidelines for regularisation of illegal constructions, over which the state issued circular but quashed by the High Court on January three.
Bills to amend the Registration Act and the Municipality Act would be introduced in the coming legislature session commencing from January 19, he said.
