Dehradun, Aug 26 (IANS): President Pranab Mukherjee Monday called for mobilisation of all possible resources to rebuild Uttarakhand, which recently suffered massive devastation due to rains and floods.
"Many people suffered heavily in respect of damage to property. I urge the adequate mobilization of all possible resources in rebuilding the lives and hopes of the people," Mukherjee said while addressing the 11th convocation of the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies located here.
Expressing solidarity with the victims and survivors of the tragedy, he said the strength of the human spirit was fundamental in times of adversity.
"In times of adversity, one should never let go the indomitable human spirit for survival and rejuvenation," said the president, who is on a day-long visit to the state.
