Abu Dhabi, Feb 23: Karnataka Sangha of Abu Dhabi will be organizing a Musical Concert by the wellknown exponent Shri Vidya Bhushana (formerly  Subrahmanya Swamiji) in the Foodlands Guest House (2nd Floor Foodlands Bldg), on Saturday, February 25 at 7-30 pmon 25th Feb, 2006(Saturday) at 7.30 P.M

All Kannadigas are cordially invited to attend with families and friends in large numbers. There is no entrance fee.

Shri Vidyabhushana, a singer par excellenece from Karnataka and is well known for his mellifluous voice. His speciality is in Haridasa compostions, which he renders with rich "bhava" and a rare literary clarity so as to present the listeners with aesthetically satisfying and spiritually uplifting concerts.

Accepting sanyasa at a very young age, Shri Vidyabhushana became the Pitadhipathi of the Kukke Subramanya matha, heading the religious institution for 30 years. He organized very many religious, social and cultural events in each of which thousands of people participated to their advantage.
Bhakti Bharati Pratisthana

In 1997, after long religious service to the society, he became a family man, settling in Bangalore and continuing his constructive activities in music, the spread of devotion and service to the community through "Bhakti Bharati Prathisthana", a trust for which he is the founder trustee. This trust conducts extensive musical programs to commemorate Shri Purandara Dasara Aradhana and other events.

Concerts

He has for the past 18 years given thousands of concerts in classical and devotional music. Over 100 of his music cassettes have been released and are highly popular. His first cassette was the extremely popular "Dasara Padagalu" and his 100th is "Tanu ninnadu jivana ninnadu". Shri Vidyabhushana made his first tour abroad in 1999 to USA for a series of well-attended concerts across the length and breadth of the country.
