Mangalore, Mar 13 [9 pm IST]: A total of 210 graduates from Fr Muller Medical College, 60 graduates from Fr Muller Homoeopathic Medical College and 168 graduates from Fr Muller College of Nursing received their degree certificates and other awards at a glittery ceremony at Fr Muller Charitable Institutions (FMCI) Monday March 13 at Fr Muller Stadium.


The 126-institution day and graduation ceremony was presided over by Mangalore Bishop Fr Aloysius Paul D'Souza.




 

The Health Card Scheme of Fr Muller Charitable Institution for the benefit of below poverty line (BPL) families was launched by Indian System of Medicine and Homoeopathy Director Dr B N Prakash. Bishop Fr Aloysius Paul D'Souza inaugurated the Fr Muller Counselling Centre for the youth and the ill persons and the Cardio Thoracic Unit was inaugurated by Tufts University School of Medicine (Boston, USA) Public Health Dean Dr Harris A Berman.




Speaking on the occasion Indian System of Medicine and Homoeopathy Director Dr B N Prakash said that there is no scope for compromise in the medical field and the best has to be delivered to the needy. The practice of this profession is an art and constantly updating and of knowledge and skills is a requirement. Beware, he warned, against being led by materialism and commercialism. Satisfaction, he added can be obtained only by showing empathy, compassion, humanness and love to ones patients.



FMCI director Fr Baptist Menezes, FMCI Administrators Fr Lawrence D'Souza, Fr Stany Tauro, Fr William Menezes, Dean Dr Sanjeev Rai, Dr S K Tiwari, Sr Aileen Mathias and Dr L L Joshua were present on the occasion.
