Bangalore: The return of Yeddy: Question of his own survival

Bangalore, Dec 6: Former BJP cadre, Lingayat leader and former Karnataka chief minister B S Yeddyurappa's return to BJP is now almost certain with all BJP state leaders having given their green signal to the party high command in this regard. However, Yeddyurappa was in two minds since some of his KJP followers were not keen on joining BJP, instead their plan was to join NDA as an ally to support Narendra Modi's prime ministerial candidature.

Things changed soon after the exit poll of Assembly elections in five states was known, which predicted that Narendra Modi-led BJP would come out with flying colours. Yeddyurappa who had several demands before agreeing to join BJP has now reportedly relaxed his 'terms and conditions'. He is reportedly ready to join BJP unconditionally, and discuss the matter once he formally becomes a member of the BJP.

Speaking to daijiworld, state BJP president Prahlad Joshi said that all hurdles with regard to Yeddyurappa's entry into BJP have now been cleared. Currently he is not insisting on any terms before joining. "We realized that we must unite to make use of anti-Congress votes. Due to the split in votes between KJP and BJP, Congress got the advantage, and now we do not want to repeat the mistake. We are confident of winning at least 20-22 seats in upcoming Lok Sabha polls in 2014," Joshi said.

On the other hand, it is now certain that Yeddyurappa has no other way than joining BJP, as the current Assembly election results of five states would be a trend-setter for Lok Sabha polls. Since there are good chances of NDA coming to power with Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister, Yeddyurappa may be saved from harassment by the CBI since cases against him are still not cleared. He is also optimistic that if BJP comes to power he would get a ministerial berth in the Modi cabinet.

However, Yeddyurappa is expected to put forward two of his wishes before the BJP high command - one, his son Raghavendra must get a BJP ticket from Shimoga in the Lok Sabha elections, and two, he himself should be made the head of the election campaign. He has reportedly dropped the demand of a prime position for Shobha Karandlaje in the state BJP, as other BJP leaders are reportedly against giving any position to Shobha and Dhananjay Kumar.

According to state BJP leaders, Yeddyurappa will return to BJP formally before January 1, 2014 unconditionally. It  is a calculated move by Yeddyurappa as this is a question of his own survival, rather than of him helping BJP to strengthen in the state.

Yeddyurappa deserves a place in Karnataka BJP.
He should be given a second chance.Every one can make mistakes. Yeddyurappa deserves an opportunity to correct himself.
He is not as rich as Queen of England,
He is not rich as Amir of Kuwait.
His assets may b e a quarter of what Sharad Pawar, Karunanidhi,Deve Gowda, Mulayam has.
Karnataka has no able leaders to lead the party.
Prhalada Joshi is like Nithin Gadkari fit to be a RSS shaka Pramukh. He has no political experience or leadership qualities.

THOSE WHO OPPOSE BSY/KJP THEY NEVER SUPPORTED BJP IN LAST STATE ELECTIONS EVEN IN THE ABSENCE OF BJP. THOSE WHO OPPOSE BJP NEVER SUPPORTED BSY/KJP. THAT MEANS THOSE WHO COMMENT ON EITHER BSY OR BJP ARE NOTHING BUT NONSENCE AND IT IS UPTO BSY TO RESPECT HIS VOTE BANK OR NOT BY JOINING WITH BJP.
HE SHOULD KEEP IT IN MIND THAT 10% WHO VOTED KJP ARE NOT FOOLS TO DANCE FOR HIS TUNES AS AND WHEN HE CHANGE THE PARTY LIKE BANGARAPPA.

What a "Natak" according to the situation this Yeddi plays. There should be some limit to the WORD "SHAME", but Yeddi can go to any extent for power. For the sake of power he can even remove his own Cheddi and afterwards, if he gains power, then removes others' cheddi, but its strange that his fans/followers still dont realize the fact.

Mr. Vijay the whole world has seen how bjp has governed the Karnataka.
    BJP top achievements
    1) The undisputed champion of De-notifications,
    2) The one and only cheap, very cheap minister who has ever visited jail on corruption charges,
    3) the one and only huttu horatagara who has wept like a female on cam(even females won't weep nowadays, they will face the situation bravely),
    4) when was in power fought like a dog daily basis and visited almost all the resorts
    5) all most all the top bjp leaders visited Karnataka to carry a briefcase.

When great vajapayee has ruled india, they never get a chance to loot india, So, now they want one more chance to loot india. Everybody has seen how reddy and bjp has looted Karnataka. If you think by yeddi’s return bjp would get 20-22 seats then let them take back reddy brother too, bjp might get 28 seats. Joshi’s statement is childish. He is thinking 20-22 seats are already stored in his wallet. Yeddis return to bjp is a blessing in disguise to congress.

There is absolutely no doubt Mr. BS Yedurappa is the strong leader especially with strong Lingayatha community, he has still strong support, whether anyone believes it or not, he is more popular and vote puller than Mr. Narendra Modi in Karnataka, his motive was only to destroy BJP in last assembly election, and not to build his KJP, perfect example is his son Ragavendra still remaining with BJP and not joining KJP, BJP needs him more than he needs BJP, both need each other, it is very clear on records that he was able to pull 10% of BJP votes in last May Karnataka assembly election and help Congress with in mind of CBI case against him, he can make a difference,

Central BJP leaders as well as state BJP leaders, as well as kannadigas know about it, you can't just ignore the guy, if you don't believe just visit Northern Karnataka & Shivamoga district and research yourselves, and will know the the reality, who is not corrupt in politics, you love him or hate him, you can't ignore the guy, he is always in news, his entry into BJP will help them along with Mr. Modi's wave, to garner lost votes & support in up coming lok sabha election.
Politics is so dirty game in India, especially in Karnataka.
God please save us from these filthy, mean, corrupt useless politicians.
    Jai Hind, Jai Karnataka.

Yeddy has strong support with the Lingayat community. So is that not vote bank politics ? However, the saintly Bongis only know to point an accusing finger at the Congress for playing vote bank politics. Go to North India and you will see it is only about caste based politics for electoral gains irrespective of the party. So is the BJP very clean ???

The fact is that the party which blames the Congress of 'khichhad' has plenty of it and more in their own house.

All Nonsense and hypocrisy. If he could win votes and he is so indispensable, what was his (KJP) performance in the last election. They have been decimated and lost their identity. In the first place people gave a very good mandate for BJP. Why did he not utilise that opportunity. He should have consolidated the position in 2013 instead of spliting the party. NOW these shamless BJP and KJP are taking of merger. Why did you separate in the first instance. It all sounds opportunistic. If they merger their performance will be worse than 2013 assemble elections. People are vigilant and aware of these natankees. Look at AAP at Delhi. It is people's verdict. So do not fool the public. It is in the best interest of BJP they should not merge. Else you will thrown out and there will be no existance in Karnataka.

this lob sabha election his return can gain a couple of extra seats for BJP and nothing more. Congress will gain most of lobsabha seats in Karnataka despite its poor performance in Karnataka. The main reason is its power in Karnataka and can play the game well. Its performance is limited to distribution of free things and nothing more to boost. In any case BJP is set to win confomrtably in next lobsabha.Above seems to be imminent

It is not Modi wave, but for misrule of Congress at Center, especially because of cost inflation, BJP is gaining!
    Anti incumbency factor!
Anybody on the helm of affairs of BJP, they would have won!
BJP is aware of this fact. So they are keen to take in Yeddy.

The BJP have no confidence of any impact of the so called Modi effect anywhere in South India and that is why out of sheer desperation they are calling a scam-tainted politician back to their party.

The party which claims to have the moral high ground and accusing the Congress 24x7 of corruption are themselves rolling in the muck.

If Yeddy joins the BJP, it is more or less certain that he will get a minister's post at the Centre and he could well be the next Finance Minister of India. So he would be moving to Delhi with a big big looting bag to fill all the money he intends to loot. This BJP is so shameless - of course, it is not alone in being so. All political parties are sailing in the same boat - that to gain power, it is willing to lick anything and in this case it is Yeddy's s**t. Whom is it going to cheat? Doubtless it is people like you and me. If you fit legs and hands to hypocrisy, you will get to see the BJP.

We have seen in the past, people have taught good lesson for these kind of politicians. BJP is not going to benefit from his return, instead they will loose few thousand votes.
