Varanasi, Apr 7 (Daily Bhaskar): Posters have sprung up in the temple town of Uttar Pradesh with Aam Aadmi Party (Aap) chief Arvind Kejriwal in terrorist gear, with a machine gun by his side and an AK 49 written beside it.
The house to house campaign describes Kejriwal, who is taking on Bjp's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi in the upcoming polls from here, as a "terrorist sympathiser". This is backed by a big online campaign where the AAP national convenor is morphed as Al-Qaeda terrorist Osama Bin Laden.
The campaign has taken a vicious turn with Kejriwal in the direct firing line of those managing the poll campaign of BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.
Addressing a rally in Jammu, Modi had referred to the AAP leader as AK 49 and an agent of Pakistan. "Three AKs have emerged as a unique strength for Pakistan. One is AK-47 which has been used to cause bloodshed in Kashmir. The second is A K Antony, who informs Parliament that people wearing Pakistan army (uniforms) beheaded our soldiers while our Army says Pakistanis had come.
"Third AK, which is AK-49, who has just given birth to a new party," Modi said, in a reference to Kejriwal, who resigned after 49 days in office as chief minister of Delhi. Ironically, the speech was ignored by the Election Commission.

Political observers in the city are worried of an all out effort to make the election in Varanasi communal.
The propaganda is particularly sharp against Kejriwal who is likely to camp in the city for a while. Physical attacks have already begun against him and AAP workers are worried about his security in the face of the viciousness of the counter campaign in Varanasi.
