New Delhi, Jun 22: Actress Sonali Bendre may face up to six years in jail if convicted in the 1998 blackbuck poaching case.
Sonali, along with actors Saif Ali Khan, Tabu and Neelam, was charged with abetment of crime under the Wildlife Protection Act by a Jodhpur court on Monday.
However, Sonali says she will eventually be vindicated.
"It's been on for a long time. The matter is sub-judice and I hope it gets sorted out. I respect the fact that I cannot talk to you while the matter is on in court. I hope once the ruling is out I can sit with you and say that I was vindicated," Sonali told CNN-IBN.
Salman Khan, who was her co-star for the film, Hum Saath Saath Hain, faces a more serious charge. The charges for Salman Khan the have been framed under Section 51 of the Wildlife Protection Act.
The actors were shooting for the film in Jodhpur when they went on a hunting spree and killed two endangered blackbucks in Kankani village.
