Mangalore: RSS unhappy with BJP's decision to expel Srikar Prabhu

Shreyas H S
Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore

Mangalore, May 10: Even as the BJP’s state wing cancelled the primary membership of Srikar Prabhu for a period of six years, highly placed sources told daijiworld that a faction of the RSS led by Dr Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat was unhappy over the sudden move by the party, thus indicating what a widening rift within the BJP and its ideological mentor, the RSS.

Clarifying his stand on the move, Prabhakar Bhat said that he did not subscribe to such development. He added that despite the cancellation of Srikar Prabhu's membership, he had high respect for the member who has been ousted from the BJP. "I do not have any personal grudge against Prabhu," he said.

According to highly placed sources within the RSS, state RSS organizing secretary Santhosh coaxed the state BJP to expel Prabhu and advocate P P Hegde. It is said that he had the backing of Nalin Kumar Kateel who reportedly passed on a strong message to the state president Prahlad Joshi to remove Srikar Prabhu and advocate P P Hegde.

Sources confirmed that the relationship between Prabhakar Bhat and Santhosh had also played its role. There had been a rift in the BJP when the district geared up for parliamentary elections. Perhaps, the gulf widened within the party after it announced sitting MP Nalin Kumar Kateel’s candidature in the elections. Sources said that of the two groups, one comprised Prabhakar Bhat loyalists while the other was the anti-Bhat led by Kateel.

"The anti-Bhat group was instrumental in influencing the decision to remove the duo from the party. The duo, according to Kateel, worked against his candidature," added the source.

Speaking to Daijiworld, Prabhakar Bhat said he was unaware whether the decision was taken after arriving at a consensus in the BJP. "It is left to the party and I have no role to play. According to me, the BJP in the district does not have a leader of the caliber that can match Prabhu," he said, insisting that he does not have anything against Srikar Prabhu.

"Even at midnight, Srikar Prabhu was always ready to come out and extend help to those in trouble. There is no rift within the party or any such groups. I learned the news of the removal of Prabhu through some party members and the media," he added.

It was a shocking news to me, when i heard that BJP has expelled a very very potential leader, Mr Srikar Prabhu.. He is a man of words and have been helping people day and night. This decision of BJP , will disturb the balance of the party in DK.. As per my knowledge, his track records towards the party was excellent and i was really hoping to see him as the next MP candidate for BJP. We need him back in the party again.. I would request BJP to reconsider the decision and get back Mr. Srikar Prabhu to the BJP party with honour and pride. Jai hind..

I think honest and transparent "kundapura vajpeyee" halady Srinivas shetty episode has shamed bjp not only in state level but also in national level inside bjp and questioned their ethics and morality .now state bjp and even national bjp have realised that coastal area politics should not be left to rss and state bjp should take control of it.else they would repeat the result of 2013 assembly election in the future.even modi just concentrated on development and security in this election and not to hardcore hindutva in ample proof of this change in mindset of bjp.

    KRP,

J.Sherrif is a dead body and no need to take disciplinary action. In fact, he himself resigned from the party. Congress showed him some respect because he is veteran CONGRESS leader. It is like sine die situation to Congress for the issue of JF. Congress gave everything, but BUDDA forgets everything for the sake of power in this adv advanced age.

Ismail,Readers are well aware what is your mindset about others except Congress. This is not new. There is no necessity to explain your stand again and again. Before thowing stones other others please remember that you too are living in a glass house. You throw stones on others and when mud spills over you,you want to evade the subject.Somewhere heard herebelow there are no Sathy Harishchandras in politics. Its a plain truth. Its a fight between core corrupts and less corrupts.

Prem Moodabidri - please note that Kalladka Bhat is not even a Primary Member of BJP. He is just an RSS leader.
One thing that should be noted prominently is that - 60% of the RSS members are not even Primary Members of BJP party. It is a different matter that the RSS fully controls their Political Wing - BJP.
So, question of expelling Kalladka Bhat or any other person from BJP does not arise when they are not at all BJP Members.

Please do not bring RSS here.. If one individual like Mr Bhat From Kalladka from RSS doesn't like the expulsion of Mr. Prabhu , that doesn't mean RSS as the organization against the expulsion. If he deserves to expel from BJP, then he should be out of the BJP..BJP as a party of Ideology of Patriotism and Inclusiveness of caste and religion. So Mr Prabhu does not follow this concept and if he looks for selfish gains.. no matter whoever it is.. there will not be any place for this great party.. Jai Hind

I just remind you brother what is going on in BJP before his judgement about holiness of RSS/BJP. There are two sets of Disciplinary parameter in BJP For Average politician a small mistake enough whereas for mighty politician they will take BJP for granted.

As far as your example concerned, it is out of context here and please read in which circumstances I put forward some serious example of indiscipline of BJP leaders, be it corruptions or sex scandal or anti party activities... Please don't feign ignorance.

Already steps are taken to welcome Mr. S. Prabhu (he deserves to be taken back with an apology by the State Unit of BJP)
BJP can never take a decision on their own. Their master always breathes down their neck every time
they have to take a decision.

Every decision they have to take it has to be ratified by RSS, their master.
Imagine the state of affairs if for our bad luck they have success with outside support.....

As per Dinesh Poojary Kundapura in this forum, BJP have a Strong State President that's why he expelled these two people from the party immediately. Now the same president will take them back immediately as he has done earlier with Yeddi, Ramulu, Pramod Mutalik etc. That means he is a weakest state president of BJP.

Srikar Prabhu is far better known in Dakshina Kannada compared to Nalin Kumar. Nalin just knows to do inaugurations and does nothing about party and people. Whereas Srikar has been continuously working hard for BJP. Now BJP must expel Santhosh for such a disastrous decision.
