Bangalore, Jul 12: Infosys chairman and chief mentor N R Narayana Murthy will be a non-executive chairman of the board of directors after his retirement on August 20.
The company, in a release here, said the board, which met here on Tuesday, resolved to appoint Murthy as an additional director with effect from August 21.
The Board also resolved that Nandan M Nilekani, currently the chief executive officer, president and managing director of the company, be re-designated as the chief executive officer and managing director and that S Gopalakrishnan, currently the chief operating officer and deputy managing director, be promoted and re-designated as the president, chief operating officer and joint managing director.
Both the changes would come into effect from August 21, the company said.
