Panaji, July 17: Goa Football Association (GFA) will ask the All India Football Federation (AIFF) to change the venue of the forthcomming Senior National football championship, 'Santosh Trophy', alloted to Srinagar, due to a fear of terrorist attack.

The resolution was unanimously passed in the annual general body meeting of the Goa Footbal Association (GFA) held here today.

The GFA President Shivanand V Salgaocar, after the meeting told media persons here today that the resolution copy reuqesting to change the venue will be sent to the AIFF.

If the venue is not changed, GFA will call another general body meeting and decide what step to be taken and player's opinion will also be sought before sending the team.

Mr Salgaocar also said, GFA has also passed a resolution to request Goa government to reconstruct the age old Bandndodkar stadium at Campal, which was demolished in 2004 following a dispute and has been handedover to GFA to look after its maintaince.

Mr Salgaocar, who is also the president of Salgaocar sports club, which was demoted to NFL's second division, will be in this season focusing to put good performance in the local professional league, win Federation cup and Durand cup and will also try to come back and play into NFL first division.
