New Delhi, Oct 20 (IANS): Celebrating the transnational relevance of translations, 90 speakers would deliberate and discuss factors contributing to the development of Indian literature during the annual festival of Indian languages that will begin here Nov 6, organisers said Monday.

The fourth-edition of the 'Samanvay: IHC Bharatiya Bhasa Mahotsav' is based on the theme 'Translations Transnations' and will focus on Indian languages which have a transnational presence.

The four-day long festival, that will end Nov 9, will also pay tribute to U.R. Ananthamurthy, Bipan Chandra, Rajendra Yadav, Nabarun Bhattacharya and Khushwant Singh, eminent Indian writers, who left an indelible mark on Indian literature.

The award 'Samanvay Bhasha Samman 2014' will be conferred upon renowned Hindi poet Ashok Vajpeyi for his contribution to Hindi and Indian literature.

Interesting sessions like 'The Information War; A Tryst with Modernity', 'Words without Borders', 'Imagining Pardes; Kiska Sheher' and 'Kiski Zubaan' would be an integral part of the festival.

"We hope to bring voices of dissent and agreement, hope and despair, anger and calm together to forge dialogues and partnerships that question and celebrate our ideas of each other and find ways of sustaining the unique diversity that constitutes our culture," said Rakesh Kacker, festival director, in a statement.
