Mangalore, Dec 19: A programme was held at the Mulky town panchayat auditorium to pay tributes to Sukhanand Shetty, who was murdered recently.
Speaking on the occasion, Mulky-Moodbidri MLA Abhyachandra Jain called upon people’s representatives to unite people from different communities and make sure that such an incident does not occur again.
The members spoke about Shetty and suggested steps like naming a bus stand after him as an honour. They remembered Shetty’s contribution to the development of Mulky and called for a thorough investigation in to his murder.
Tributes were also paid to Premanand, Dinesh Amin and Sanku Maistry, who were killed in the violence that erupted after Shetty’s murder.
