Mangalore, Jan 6: The employees of KVS Kamath and Sons Cashew Factory at Shaktinagar near here staged protest against irregularities in ESI Hospital on Friday January 5.

The employees complained that ESI Hospital has been neglecting them and asking them to go to another hospital for treatment despite orders from state government.  Despite several beds being empty in the hospital, the staff do not admit patients even in dire circumstances, they said.

They also blamed that the doctors in the hospital delay in granting medical certificate even when there is a genuine need of the same.  The patients who have been admitted in the hospital said that they are not provided with proper medicine and free meals.  "Though the hospital is supposed to provide us with medicine and meals, the order is only on papers.  There are no such facilities here," was their outcry.

The employees demanded the state government and local administration to look into these irregularities and provide them with apt and proper service.  "If this protest and appeals go in vain, then, we might have to resort to some other ways of protest," they warned.
