Can we ask our church leaders to stop building new church halls at expensive prices and the rent them to the public(all communities) at exorbitant prices. Can we have simple wedding at church without expensive decorations in the church and then the gathering at the family house. Can we avoid priest being the toast masters. We speak about our culture for the appearances and not for reality

People blindly copy others & waste Time & Money in their functions.
Its time, people realize nobody remembers how grand or how expensive the ceremony or celebrations were once they reach their home.
It seems some think its the status symbol if they follow in the footsteps of rich in splurging.
Debts are raised too or savings are wasted on non-productive acts included after the religious rituals in Christian weddings.
Its Time they save that money for their future as entering into wedlock is only the first step & responsibilities of living happy married life is not bed of roses ever after as written in children's stories.

There is a need to change the culture in the society. As we have experienced it is changing like flowing water not only in our Diocese but whole society. Instead it is high time to discuss to how to build people than buildings and uplift the under privileged and work for a just society.
