Mumbai, Sep 1: Muhurat of 'Nirmellem Chukana' drama written by Joseph D'Souza Borivili was held on August 15 at St Louis School premises in Dahisar.
Well known Konkani actors and writers were present. After the success of 'Esthel Konnachi Vokol' Joseph D’Souza has come out with one more comedy drama. The programme started with a brief prayer by Leo Cutinho who advised that prayer should be recited before every practice during drama session. He also insisted without God’s grace and blessings, one cannot achieve anything in life.
Then all the guests present introduced themselves. Sangeet Samrat Henry D’souza was the chief guest of the event. Experienced and most senior actor William Machado will be the director of the drama and songs will be composed by well- known and upcoming composer Charles D’Cunha from Borivali. Joseph D’souza in his speech mentioned the diminishing demand for Konkani drama. He also explained various reasons for it.
Henry D’souza in his speech appreciated Joseph D’souza’s earlier drama and wished all the success for his new drama. William Machado told the crowd how he met Joseph D’souza and how he struggled to stage his earlier drama. He also recalled how he and Joseph D’Souza made 'Esthel Konachi Vhokol' super hit with new and upcoming actors.
Flower bouquets were given to chief guest, director and president of Canara Konkani association (Borivali) by children who were present in the programme. Special bouquet was given to Jennifer D’souza who is debut heroine of this drama. George Sequeira, Hilda D’Souza and Cyril Monis read out a scene from the drama.
On behalf of Joseph D’souza, Cyril Monis gave vote of thanks. He also compered the whole programme.
Programme ended with the refreshment. The first show of this drama will be staged at the end of January 2016, at Borivali.
