British Columbia, Sep 11: The Catholics from British Columbia, Canada celebrated the Monthi Fest September 5 at Immaculate Conception Church, Delta, BC under the guidance of Fr Jerry Dsouza and was shouldered by the core community members (2014 - 2015) comprising Ida and Gaulbert Cordeiro, Lancy and Nancy Dsouza, Rony and Diana Fernandes and Shailesh and Vinita Pereira.

The pomp celebration started at 6:15 pm with the showering of flowers to the baby mother in front of the grotto in the presence of Fr Jerry Dsouza, Fr Rajesh Madtha and Fr Jason.

The Novem was blessed at the grotto which was specially arranged and sent to us from India by Dolphy D'lima (Udupi) - brother of Ida Corderio so that we could receive it right on time to consume the new crop.

The crowd then walked into the church in a procession with the Mother Mary statue accompanied with the altar boys, priests, choir members and the rest of the crowd.

The Holy Mass commenced at 7 pm which was celebrated by Fr Jason concelebrated by Fr Rajesh and Fr Jerry. The Homily was provided by Fr Jason which focused mainly on the family life. The service was provided by our Altar boys Dean Fernandes, Alfred Fernandes, Daryl Dias and Trevor Pinto.

The choir team helped us pray twice more with their beautiful voices and well organised singing which was initiated by Sanjeeth Cordeiro (guitar) under the direction of Diego Joanes (piano) with a great team comprising Linda Joanes, Jennifer Cutinho, Nikita Cutinho, Shanthi Dias, Deora Dias, Tania Pinto, Veena Pinto, Bernadine Pinto, David Pinto, Beryl Misquith, and Martha DCosta.

The gospel reading were read by Arnold Fernandes (English) and Gladys Pereira (Konkani), the prayer of faithful were read by Diana Fernandes (Konkani). The offertory was carried by Tania Pinto, Deora Dias, Trishna and Sujay Nazareth, Ida and Gaulbert Cordeiro.

The celebration of the fest was held in the Church Hall at 0800 PM which was mastered by Aaron Dsouza. His wit and humor kept the crowd glued towards him for the entire evening. There were games, dance which exhibited so much of love and unity among the fellow Mangaloreans. This celebration was attended by over 170 people from the community.

The main part of the event was the mouth watering Mangalorean delicacy which was prepared by community members kept the crowd finger-licking -

Claudius and Sybil - Lemonade
Allan and Leela Saldhana - Novem
Joe Fernandes and fly - Chane
Dorothy D'sa and fly - Moong

2014-15 Committee - Polov, Pork, Sango, Salad, Bread, Rice, Fruit platter and wine.

The event was a huge success and every moment of it was captured by talented Jerald Quadros and Aaron Fernandes with their amazing photography.

The entire celebration was a huge success and was highly appreciated by each and every one present.

    Well done 2015 Monthifest organisizing committee. You have worked hard to organize this grand event. Thanks to all who have worked with the committee and all the Mangalorean Catholics in Vancouver, BC Canada for attending the mass and the celebration.

    Nice Fotos.Wewere looking for a Person of our relation,is not seen can someone who knows about this Family kindly give the Information to us?We lost contact since some years when they immigrated to BC form Abudhabi to BC.exact Location is not known.The Name is Mark and Joyce valadares origin from Mumbai.He was working for KLM ,later working for a canadian air line.exactly not known.since she is a Cousin of mine.(Henry)has two Boys.elder one must be about 33years.will be very happy when some one knows and pass Information to my mail address.through Daiji.world.Thank you.
