Mangaluru, Apr 7: Mangaluru city Armed Reserve Police inspector Sachin Lawrence has been honoured with the Chief Minister's Gold Medal for the remarkable work done in the Anti-Naxal Force and the city Armed Reserve. The Medal was presented on April 2 in Bengaluru during the Police Flag Day celebrations.

Sachin joined the police department as a constable in September 2002. Later on in 2008, he was selected for the reserve sub-inspector's post. After completion of basic training at Police Training College, Gulbarga, he served in Chikkamagaluru and Uttara Kannada districts. In June 2015, he was promoted as reserve police Inspector and transferred to Mangaluru. While working in Uttara Kannada district he underwent a three-month commando course at the Centre for Counter Terrorism, Kudlu.
He was able to achieve all this in his short period of service because of the love and care of his wife Divya and adequate support from police commissioner Chandra Sekar. He has a child named Jeeval.
Sachin did his schooling at Rosario high school, Mangaluru, and PU and degree studies at St Aloysius Institution. He then completed his masters degree from Karnataka State Open University. During his school and college days he was in NCC and completed A,B,C certificates in NCC naval wing. He was the cadet captain in senior division of NCC.
