Doha, Apr 12: Tulu Koota Qatar (TKQ), the uniting factor of all the Tuluvas working and living in the State of Qatar will be holding its annual day celebrations at 4.30 pm at the DPS Auditorium, Wakra here on Friday April 22.
TKQ is known for dishing out eye-catching and entertaining cultural extravaganza on its annual day celebrations. This is why the Qatar Tuluvas mark their calendar right at the beginning of each year and turn up for TKQ Annual Day celebration in big numbers without failure.
Just as in the past, this year too, the annual day celebrations will be a true and perfect blend of music, comedy and dance. The much-awaited celebrations will be inaugurated by proud Tuluva Abhaychandra Jain, minister for youth services and fisheries, government of Karnataka. Dr Ganesh Amin Sankamar, head of the Kannada department, St Aloysius PU College and well-known folk researcher and litterateur who was is also the former member of Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy will be the guest of honour.
Versatile and well-known Mangalurean singer Srikanth Kamath and noted playback singer Supriya Lohit would be leading the musical extravaganza. Srikanth, who is often referred as 'Kishore Kumar' of coastal Karnataka, has presented thousands of musical shows in India and abroad. Supriya Lohit has already carved a niche for herself as a melodious playback singer and was one of the judges at the recently-concluded Mangalore Idol competitions.
TKQ members will present comedy skits 'Police Station and Master Saloon'. TKQ ladies and children wing too will add their might to the entertainment quotient with special dances and other programmes. 'Nirel', TKQ 15th Anniversary special souvenir too will be released on the occasion.
Ace compere from Mangaluru Saiheel Rai who has hosted numerous programmes in India and abroad will be the guest anchor for the celebrations.
All in all, the forthcoming annual celebration of Tulu Koota Qatar promises to be another well-planned, complete entertainment package as has been the norm in the past.
