Deve Gowda terms developments as donkey trading

Bengaluru, Jun 9: The JDS, which is determined to teach its rebel legislators a lesson, has decided to take a final decision over their future on June 12. In the meanwhile, JDS supremo, H D Deve Gowda, said that the developments taking place in the state can best be described as donkey trading rather than horse trading. He also expressed his intention of taking decisive disciplinary action against the rebel MLAs on June 12.

Deve Gowda said that Zameer Ahmed Khan and Cheluvarayaswamy, JDS MLAs, who have met Congress top brass at New Delhi and set the ball relating to horse trading rolling, are talking beyond their limits. "Efforts are being made to crush regional party, JDS. A time has come to end all these problems. All these confusions will be given a logical end on the next day of the Rajya Sabha election," he explained at a press conference held here on Wednesday June 8.

Gowda said that he has been receiving representations from scores of party activists seeking to initiate action against those who are working against the party's interests. "Let us see whom will they vote in the Rajya Sabha election. We will announce disciplinary action on June 12," he stated.

Gowda said that he is not subdued by the attempts being made to finish off his party. "It is not easy to eliminate the father-children comine. We do not intend to silently watch when our opponents hatch one conspiracy after the other. We have the power and determination to fight against two national parties," he stated.

He also expressed anger at the election commission, seeking to know whether it is not aware of what is going on in the state, claiming that both the national parties are indulging in horse trading on a large scale.

He chose minister, D K Shivakumar for special tongue-lashing, warning that his tactics will henceforth will not work. "The Congress, which says it wants to crush JDS, does not have proper foothold in Karnataka. Prime minister, Modi, instead of searching for black money stashed away in foreign countries, should conduct search on D K Shivakumar's properties through investigations, he urged.
