Udupi, Jun 12: Anupama Shenoy's mother, Nalini Shenoy, who arrived at her home at Uchchila near Padubidri for the first time after her daughter resigned as Kudligi deputy superintendent of police (DySP), said that her daughter told her that she will come home after doing something about the injustice faced by her. "She has not contacted us since sometime. She needs protection. She is alone, and no one i supporting her," she stated.

With tears in her eyes, Nalini felt that the government could have kept her daughter's resignation pending for sometime for holding consultation with everyone concerned including people before taking a final decision. "The acceptance of resignation has taken us unawares. We have become directionless. The government should rethink about its decision," she requested.

She said that the situation at Kudlgi had come to such a pass that it had become impossible for her daughter to function there. Unknown people used to knock at her doors during late nights. Unidentified people used made her calls at night. Anupama was not scared of these things, but she spent sleepless nights many a time. "When I suggested her to get transfer, she said she had done nothing wrong, and hence there was no reason for her to seek transfer," she explained.

Nalini said that people of Ballari have good opinion about Anupama and also the superintendent of police thre. She rued the fact that politicians were spoiling the atmosphere and not allowing good officers to work peacefully.
