Bantwal: Man accused in several cases attacks, injures local

Bantwal, Nov 15: A person who is facing several criminal cases hit a local with lethal weapon and left him seriously injured. This incident happened at Vittal in the taluk on Monday November 14.

In this incident, Sangam Muhmood (37), resident of Kanyana village, suffered serious  injuries. He is now being t treated at Vittal community health centre.

It is said that Sadiq alias Blade Sadiq, residing at Vittal-Puttur road, had called Muhmood over phone and asked him to come near the Basadi at Vittal. When Muhmood went there, Sadiq, who was waiting for him, reportedly sought a loan. When Muhmood said he did not have money, Sadiq is said to have picked up quarrel with him. After verbal altercation, Sadiq suddenly swished a sharp weapon made of iron he was holding at Muhmood's face, inflicting serious  injuries.

Muhmood, who had fallen in a pool of blood, was admitted into hospital by locals. A complaint against Sadiq and some others has been filed in Vittal police station.

It is learnt that in the past, Sadiq had been arrested by Vittal police under Goonda Act and produced in court. He was released on bail a few months back.
