Mangalore, Feb 19: Film actor Sundar Raj said that the government should provide grant to all children's movies. He was speaking after inaugurating the four-day children's film festival  here on Monday February 18.  Several award-winning films in various languages will be screened and got underway here on Monday.

According to Sunder Raj, the number of childrens' movies are vanishing fast because it is very difficult to make such movies. Therefore, he said that it is the primary duty of the government to provide grant of Rs 25 lac for two  movies in a year. If the government gives grant to the children movies it will hit the screen every year, he opined.

On the occasion film actor Srinath urged students to inculcate the values from the film they have watched. He also shared a few moments with the children after the inauguration of the fest. Films drawn from seven languages namely English, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil and Telugu will be screened in 11 theaters for four days.

Theatre Owners Association secretary Shankara Pai and HQA Prabhakar Sharma were present on the occasion.

I am not agreeing with Raj’s viewpoint, children’s movies are vanishing because of their poor quality. If Amir Khan make film like ‘Taare Zameen Par’ (TZP) without any governments help why can’t other producers?
