Mangalore: Kindergarten Block of Lourdes Central School Inaugurated

Mangalore, Jun 3: The kindergarten block of Lourdes Central School in the city, was inaugurated on Tuesday June 3, at the school campus by Fr Wilson Vitus D'Souza, secretary, Catholic Board of Education.

The inaugural started with the cutting of ribbon by Fr Wilson Vitus D'Souza, followed by the rendering of the prayer by Msgr Denis Moras Prabhu, vicar general of Mangalore diocese. Msgr Prabhu, who presided over the function, also blessed the new block.  Fr Joseph Peter Tauro, manager of the school, inaugurated the cafeteria, while principal Grace Noronha inaugurated the dining hall.

The principal delivered the welcome address. It was informed, that the school had won the International School Award, UK. After the students of the school presented a prayer dance, Fr J P Tauro spoke about the school and its activities. Chief guest Fr Wilson Vitus D'Souza, addressing the audience, extended his good wishes to the school for attaining greater glory in the days to come. President of the function Msgr Denis Moras Prabhu delivered the presidential address.

The architect and contractors of the block were felicitated. Vice-principal Joy Rai proposed vote of thanks. Later, a fine mixture of cultural programmes, was presented by the students of the school. Prominent dignitaries who graced the occasion included Joseph Nazareth, vice-president of the parish council, Vivian Sequeira, vice-president of the Parents-Teachers Association(PTA)-2007, Pratham Bhandary, past president of PTA-2006, Edward Lewis, past president of PTA- 2005, Ashwini Punja, past presidentof PTA-2004, Giselle Mehta, past president of PTA-2003, Fr Ajith, Fr Naveen and Dolphy Lobo.
