Bengaluru, Oct 7: The Central Crime Branch (CCB) police on Thursday questioned Geethavishnu, the grandson of former MP, the late D K Audikesavulu, for causing an accident and on possession of Marijuana in his car.

On wee hours of September 28, Geethavishnu had rammed his SUV into a Maruti Omni injuring six people.

Following the summons issued by the CCB, Geethavishnu, accompanied by his advocate appeared before the investigating officer ACP Venkatesh Prasanna on Thursday morning.

In a very long interrogation session, Geethavishnu told the officers on September 27 he had invited a few friends, including film actors and industrialists, to Eden Park restaurant owned by his family. After the party, he left for his house at around 1 am on Thursday.

He claimed that around 1.30 am near Southend circle, the driver of the Maruti Omni jumped the signal and this lead to confusion, which made him lose the control of his vehicle causing the accident.

However, Jayanagar traffic police have refuted his claims stating the signal is turned off at 11 pm and switched on at 7 am.

On being questioned on Marijuana being found in his vehicle, he said he has no clue on how the drug landed in his car. After the accident, many rushed to the spot. Someone must have planted the drug, he said.

“I have no connection with anyone in the Telugu film world and I am ready for any investigation,’’ Geethavishnu told the IO.

He was interrogated again in the evening by Joint Commission of Police (Crime) N Satheesh Kumar and Deputy Commissioner of Police Ramvilas Sepat. He repeated the same statements.

He was directed to appear whenever he was summoned.
