Mangaluru: Govt official faints during Upa Lokayukta meet, third time in three years

Mangaluru, Jan 28: Sundar Poojary, deputy director of Dakshina Kannada women and children welfare association who had on earlier occasions collapsed twice when questioned on issues, fainted again on Sunday January 28 when he was quizzed by Upa Lokayukta here.

Justice Subash B Adi, Karnataka Upa Lokayukta was conducting a hearing of public grievances at Netravati auditorium in Dakshina Kannada zilla panchayat here when the incident occured.

Justice Adi sought explanation from Sundar Poojary over some issue. The latter started answering, but collapsed all of a sudden. Officials who were sitting beside him helped him and he was taken to hospital.

In 2016, Sundar had collapsed during a meeting conducted by V S Ugrappa, chairman on expert committee on sexual harassment against women and children. In 2017, he again fainted during a meet chaired by Ugrappa. On both occasions, Ugrappa had taken him to task before he collapsed.
