Sunny morning in Delhi, rains likely


New Delhi, Apr 20 (IANS): It was a hot and sunny morning in the national capital on Friday with the maximum temperature set to touch 39 degrees Celsius. The Met predicts rain later in the day.

The minimum temperature was recorded at 24 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season's average.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted some respite soon. "Light rains and drizzles are likely to occur towards the afternoon or evening," an IMD official said.

The humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 52 per cent.

Thursday's maximum temperature settled at 39.4 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season's average, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 23 degrees Celsius, a notch above the season's average.
